Boxing is Love is proud to celebrate the release of The Knockout, a comprehensive exploration of boxing's most decisive moment by Advisory Board member Andy Clarke. The book represents the most in-depth examination ever undertaken of the physical, psychological, and emotional dimensions of the knockout punch.

"Swift, brutal and utterly final: with knockouts, there are no grey areas; a KO is a KO," writes Clarke in his opening. "But what actually is a knockout, and why are we so fascinated by it?"

The Knockout goes beyond the spectacular to examine what it means for the people at the centre of that storm. Through interviews with elite boxers including Carl Froch, Ricky Hatton, David Haye, Tony Bellew, Amir Khan, and Deontay Wilder, alongside legendary trainers Teddy Atlas and Peter Fury, renowned referees, and leading promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn, Clarke constructs an unprecedented portrait of sport's most dramatic moment.

About

he book features extensive coverage of Froch vs Groves II, the epic rematch that saw Carl Froch knock out George Groves with what proved to be the final punch of his career. But Clarke's investigation extends far beyond individual fights to explore the broader phenomenon: How does it feel to land that ultimate blow? How does it feel to suffer it? What does it take mentally, physically, and emotionally for a person to enter an arena where the stakes are so devastatingly high?

"There is nothing to rival it in sport," Clarke argues. "Not the last-second goal, not the basket on the buzzer, not the putt that drops on the eighteenth green. In terms of its brutality

and finality, it stands alone."

Particularly significant is the book's exploration of male vulnerability and the delicate nature of many boxers, especially following a knockout loss—themes that resonate deeply with Boxing is Love's mission to use boxing as a tool for understanding resilience, mental health, and personal development.

Clarke's work includes insights from commentators Steve Bunce, Thomas Hauser, and Tris Dixon, medical experts Dr Neil Scott and Sara Chenery, as well as coaches, doctors, and family members who witness the knockout's repercussions firsthand. The result is a complete examination moving across physical, psychological, social, and philosophical dimensions of the finishing blow.

"Andy's rigorous approach to understanding boxing's most complex moments aligns perfectly with our organizational mission," said [Your Name], Founder of Boxing is Love. "We believe boxing teaches profound lessons about human resilience, vulnerability, and recovery. The Knockout examines these themes with unprecedented depth and honesty."

The Knockout embraces the full spectrum of human experience in the ring: agony and ecstasy, triumph and disaster, hope and despair, self-belief and doubt. It's a bolt of lightning captured on the page—fascinating, frightening, and essential reading for anyone seeking to understand what happens when sport reaches its most brutal and final conclusion.
