BiL Fellows

BIL Fellows is a curated community of individuals whose work intersects with boxing, alongside boxers pursuing diverse careers. The Fellowship creates space for dialogue, collaboration, and mentorship, with Fellows engaging directly with the young people we support through workshops, mentoring, and creative or research projects.

Derrick Osaze

Pastor and Pro Boxer

Derrick Osaze is a Pastor at God’s Vineyard Ministries and a professional boxer. He has led youth and education initiatives with national recognition for community impact, and is passionate about inspiring the next generation.

Dr. Anthea Moys

Artist, Educator, and Researcher

Dr. Anthea Moys is multi-modal artist, educator, practice-researcher, and facilitator whose work explores the intersections of Play, Power, and Decoloniality. You can view past project 'Boxing Games' (2007 & 2018-2022) here

Dr. Ella Harris 

Creative Researcher and Elite Amateur Boxer

Dr. Ella Harris is an independent researcher who uses creative and participatory methods to explore and address social challenges, with a focus on housing, crisis cultures, and young people. She is also the 2023 Elite English National Boxing Champion.

Dr. Ella Gilbert 

Climate Scientist and Competitive Boxing Coach

Dr. Ella Gilbert is a climate scientist and presenter with a PhD in Antarctic climate change, and a retired amateur boxer turned competitive coach with over a decade at Islington Boxing Club.

Dr. Sarah Crews

Associate Professor at the University of South Wales

Dr. Sarah Crews' research explores boxing as a cultural and performative act, with a focus on gender, representation, and the role of sport in visual and physical cultures. Her most recent project on the lost legacies and hidden labour in women's boxing can be found here

Dr. Solomon Lennox

Lecturer, Researcher

Lecturer in Performing Arts at Northumbria University, UK. His research work uses performance ethnography methodologies to examine the performance of identity amongst combat athletes.

Elena Sobol

Communications and Public Relations 

Elena is the Head of Presidential Operations & Communications at IBA. She has led global campaigns, managed reputational crises, advised top executives, and driven storytelling that doubled international media coverage and reached audiences of over 1 trillion.

Hannah Rankin

Classical Musician, Pro Boxer

Hannah is a former WBA and IBO 154lb World Champion, and also a professional musician, having performed with the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre and the London Sinfonietta.

Rachel Bower

Met Police Detective, Former National Boxing Champion

Rachel is a Detective Inspector with the Met Police and a national boxing champion turned coach. She now leads grassroots clubs in Camden and works with England Boxing and GB Boxing to develop the next generation of athletes, with a focus on women, girls, and underrepresented communities.

Rakim Sajero

Psychologist and Pro Boxer

Rakim holds a BSc in Psychology and is an aspiring clinical psychologist. His goal is to combine boxing and psychology to support boxers.
